Brenntag opens new distribution center in Lancaster, Texas
Even better services for customers and suppliers
Today's official inauguration of the new facility in Lancaster (TX) marks the consolidation of Brenntag Southwest's former activities at the locations in Dallas and Fort Worth. The new facility in the southwestern USA enables Brenntag to offer its ever increasing customer base additional services for warehousing, packaging and blending.
A white room provides optimum conditions for the storage and packaging of chemicals for the food and pharmaceutical industry, for example, and separate refrigeration zones meet the latest hygiene and safety standards for the handling of these goods. Kevin Kessing, Managing Director of Brenntag Southwest: "We view investments in safeguarding health, safety and the environment as a key commitment. Our facility in Lancaster guarantees the highest quality assurance standards along the entire logistics chain." The Lancaster site houses a total storage tank capacity of 1.5 million liters* over an area of 200,000 square meters. The facility has its own siding, ensuring rapid loading of liquids and solids for transport by rail.
During his opening speech, Stephen R. Clark, member of the Executive Board of Brenntag responsible for operations in North America, outlined the advantages of the new location: "The additional services we offer here will allow our customers and suppliers to focus on their core business. As a full-line distributor, we handle complex sales and logistics tasks on their behalf." During the official opening, Clark also praised the project as a successful model for cooperation between the public and private sector.
