Brenntag to take over Oil and Gas business in Texas
With retroactive effect to April 01, 2005, Coastal Chemical Co., LLC, member of Brenntag, the global leader in the growth market for the distribution of chemicals, has acquired the South Texas Oil and Gas business of J.A.M. Distributing Company. The acquisition includes two facilities, located in Alice and Edinburg. This takeover enhances Brenntag's regional presence in the South Texas area and provides up-stream customers in the attractive fuel and lubricant distribution business to benefit from full-coverage distribution.

As Coastal is one of the leading ExxonMobil (Fairfax, Virginia) distributors of lubricants to the US Oil and Gas Industry, the acquisition further strengthens the excellent relationship between the two companies: Coastal was just recently recognized as having achieved the Premier Class status in the 2004 Circle of Excellence, ExxonMobil's foremost distributor recognition program.
Moreover to the purchase of South Texas Oil and Gas business of J.A.M. Distributing Company, Brenntag customers and suppliers in the southwestern USA can take advantage of additional services for warehousing, packaging and blending: On February 23, 2005 Brenntag Southwest, Inc., inaugurated the new site in Lancaster (TX), including total storage tank capacity of 1.5 million liters over an area of 200,000 square meters.
Brenntag recorded sales of 4.3 billion euros in 2003 through the efforts of the company's 8,900 employees at around 300 locations around the globe. Brenntag supplies industrial and specialty chemicals and offers a wide range of value-added services for companies that manufacture and process chemicals.
