Brenntag North America, Inc. Names New President of Northeast

Reading, PA - Mr. William A. Fidler, President of Brenntag North America, Inc., one of the leading chemical distributors in North America, announces that Mr. Markus Klähn has been appointed President of Brenntag Northeast effective August 1, 2007. He succeeds Anthony J. Gerace, who earlier this year was promoted to Senior Vice President of Brenntag North America, Inc. Markus Klähn has an outstanding record of achievement within Brenntag. He started his career in Corporate Development with Stinnes, former owner of Brenntag, in 1994 where he led numerous strategic projects for Brenntag. |

In 1999 he served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Brenntag North America, Inc. and played an important role in the successful integration of HCI into Brenntag in 2000. In 2002 Markus Klähn returned to Germany as the Head of Corporate Development and IT for Brenntag before moving to Houston in 2004 as Chief Financial Officer of Brenntag Latin America, Inc.
In 2006, Brenntag succeeded worldwide again in underpinning its position as a globally leading chemical distributor. The company recorded external sales of US$ 7.6 billion (EUR 6.1 billion).
